In 2017, Jess was appointed an Adjunct Professor of Business Leadership with Torrens University, part of Laureate International Universities, teaching executive leaders undertaking coursework as well as supervising Doctoral candidates.

Jess gained her Doctorate in Business Leadership from Charles Sturt University and is a Life Fellow of Australian Graduate School of Leadership.

Since its inception, Jess has been involved as an advisor for the now global Champions of Change movement, led by Elizabeth Broderick AO. Jess has convened the Australian Architects Champions of Change group since 2015, ensuring the complexities of leadership and gender equity are front of mind.
